Hi Clive, I think that this word "traveled" confusing me a lot ... can I replace it to "visit"? So he visited people from the circles?

Hi,

No, 'visited' does not have the same nuances,
The phrase is basically an idiom, and an idiom sounds odd if you start to change the words.

Try this:
"Yet, because of the people he knew and associated with, Schumer was more familiar than most
with the tittle-tattle about her husband’s alleged infidelities."
