To vs. for

Please help me with the difference between .....

1. I'm leaving this to your imagination

2. I'm leaving this for your imagination.

I've gone through many websites understanding the difference between 'to' and 'for', but there are still many doubts and I couldn't understand everything. I'm so frustrated and sad.

anonymous the difference It's not that there is really a difference. It's that with "I leave it" we usually use "to" when we mean we are leaving it so that someone else can consider it. I'll leave it to you to decide whether to see the movie or not.
