I want to know when to use "depending upon" or "depending on"? And, Are they the same meaning?

Hello Cool Breeze. well I guess the only difference they might have is:
use depending on when you want to name one or more items but in depending upon you want to mention only one factor .

That is not true of BrE. The only difference in our variety is that 'upon' sounds a little more formal than 'on'.
