To try to guide you in the right direction

As your friend it's my job to try to guide you in the right direction when you're clearly not capable of it yourself.

Is this correct and natural? (It's meant to be slightly condescending)

Top answer

It's correct, but it sounds more than just slightly condescending. If you said it to me, we wouldn't be friends anymore. Try something more diplomatic.
