To the extent

When I use the phrase "to the extent" in a setence, may I say "to the extent not exceeding 10%" rather than " to the extent that it does not exceed 10%"?

Top answer

No. It's possible that you may be able to say "to an extent not exceeding 10%", but I would need to see the full sentence.
