Hi experts,please I need once again your help- Evertime I speak by telephone I always have the same doubts and get confused regarding this:I speak TO or WITH??Is it possible both?I talk TO or WITH?¨Is it possible both?I answer your email or I answer TO your email?I answer with a smile? (I smiled and answered)Thanks for your helpPamela

You can certainly answer with a smile, or even with a smile in your voice.

speak to, speak with, talk to, and talk with are all possible.

1) I would like to speak to you.
2) I would like to speak with you.
3) I would like to talk to you.
4) I would like to talk with you.

1) is a little more intimidating than 2).
3) is a little more intimidating than 4).

1) and 2) are more formal than 3) and 4).
Conversely, 3) and 4) are more friendly than 1) and 2).

2) and 4) are more inviting than 1) and 3).

"speak" rather than "talk" and "to" rather than "with" express more sternness, more of a one-way communication.
