Consider the following sentence:


"James Joyce, who had begun to lose his eyesight, saved his reading of Lorelei Lee."



Does 'to say one's reading' mean that they didn't read at all?

I take that to mean that Mr. Joyce did not read a lot of Lorelei Lee at a time. He only read a little and then rested for a while. I could be wrong, though, because I'm not very
