To put et cetera in the middle of sentence

Hi. Would you say having an "etc" in the middle of a sentence like the example is a matter of style, formal versus informal? Thank you in advance.

... the number of people in a room, bus etc that is ...

'Etc' means 'and other things'. In BE we don't put a full stop after it (unless of course it's the last word in the sentence). ' Rover

'Etc' means 'and other things'.

In BE we don't put a full stop after it (unless of course it's the last word in the sentence).

So I would write:

'We need wine, cheese, canapés, cake etc for our party tonight.'
