To this day I've been a friend of your dad's. OR Till this day I've been a friend of your dad's.

Both look okay to me but I think native speakers prefer to this day.

This is what I feel: (a) To this day,I have been a friend of your dad's = I still am one of his friends. (b) Until this day, I was a friend of your dad's = We are no longer friends (one of us angered the other earlier today). P.S. It may be preferable to start a sentence with "until" rather than "till."
