He received a message from his friends a while ago, to/requesting to help them solve the problem.

I received a lots of requests from people from all over the world to/requesting to teach them how to make the new chicken soup recipe that I came up with recently.

Should I use to or requesting to in the above sentences? Please help.

... asking me to teach them...

or (more formal-sounding):

... requesting that he help them solve the problem.
... requesting that I teach them...
