To Or Into

Hello everyone,

Is either "to" or "into" correct in the following sentences?

1. Bring the clutch to its biting point.

2. Bring the clutch into its biting point.

eg Slightly engage the clutch.

eg Slightly release the clutch.

You gave me two good sentences, but you didn't tell me if "to" or "into" is okay. That's because we typically wouldn't say it your way at all.

If I had to choose, I'd choose 'to', but I never hear its biting point.

PS - We also say engage/disengage the clutch or let in/let out the clutch.
