To me, to be an educated person has a very different meaning.

To me, to be an educated person has a very different meaning. A person having a degree in mathematics is professionally educated. He knows how to add numbers. Perhaps, he doesn't know anyting else like history, politics, you can say social sciences, in general. Likewise a person having a degree in physics can have more knowledge about the outside world than about his own world. Professionally, a laborer is also beneficial to the society. So, a real educated person is the one who is beneficial to the society in every way. To be a real educated person you hav to educate yourself.

Maybe you mean it has " a number of meanings" Jackson6612 Perhaps, he doesn't know anyting else like history, politics, you can say social sciences, in general "anyting" should be "anything".
