"to make the luggage" ?

Hello,

I don't know whether any of the following sentences are correct:

"I am preparing my luggage for our trip"

"I am making the luggage for our trip"

"I am setting the luggage for our trip" (??)

I guess it is "making the luggage", but I am not sure. Maybe the structure of the sentence isn't correct either.

Would you tell me, please, if any of those sentences are correct, and if there is another way or verb to mean the same?

thank you very much in advance,

p.s. I was looking up in the dictionary but I found nothing.

Regards,

Jose

Dear Jose,

What you want to say, I believe, is: "I am packing my luggage for our trip." This means that you are putting your stuff inside of your luggage in preparation for dearture on a trip. Right?

You could say, I am preparing my luggage.... but it's very awkward. Preparing it for what? War with the airline baggage handlers?
