To lose control

Do all three sentences sound fine to you:
- Rick lost control and punched him in the face.
- Rick lost all control and punched him in the face.
- Rick lost control of himself and punched him in the face.
The first one might sound a little odd. Also, can we use:
- Rick spiraled/got out of control and punched him in the face.

#1 and #2 can work. However, I would use "lost his temper", "lost his cool" or (less formally) "lost his rag."

#3 is okay.

#4 doesn't work for me.
