To know about grammar

How long has he been there?

How long has he lived there?

How long has he been living there?

My question is:-Are these three sentences given above same in meaning?

Top answer

The second and third are about the same. The first (to me) doesn't give me the sense that he lives there; he may be only visiting/staying there temporarily. The third COULD make it sound like his move there was relatively recent.
