"To keep a rein on" at a passive form ?

What is the correct passive form of "Laura keeps a rein on Jean" ?
I thought about "Jean's rein is kept on by Laura" but I know it doesn't make any sense ^^'...

It's usually a tight rein. A tight rein is kept on Jean by Laura. The passive voice doesn't sound very natural to me.

Right. Idioms in active voice are virtually never cast in the passive. Idioms are always used with the exact same pattern of words. You can't have these, for example:

John was tired, so the hay was hit by him.
The ceiling was hit by Chuck when his son wrecked the car.
Karen is going to win
