To its credit

Though the year has been the most volatile of the last three years, 2006 has several records to its credit namely the five different index levels of 10000, 11000, 12000, 13000 and the recent 14000-Watt Kiss.
What is the meaning of “to its credit”?
Thanks

In my opinion, here, "to its credit" = "to its not-completely-ruined 'reputation' ".
