Hi,

I think this sentence is correct.

"They couldn't finish the report because they didn't have any more money to invest in the last phrase."

I think of another sentence which has the same meaning but I am not sure about it. Please help. Thanks.

I made a mistake when I wrote "phrase" instead of "phase"
