In Serpent of the Staglands, you assume the role of Necholai, a lesser God who has descended to earth to take part in a festival in his honor. I think "to finally reclaim your immortality" qualifies "to the astral planes."
If so I was wondering if it indicates the result as in "I came back to find her dead."
