"to + infinitive + -ing" tense

Hi Teachers,

Sometimes, I'm still confused about 'to + infinitive + -ing' tense.
For example,
"The app isn’t there tempting me to check it 600 times. And it’s a pain to keep downloading it. And this is a big secret to beating bad habits."
The sentence "And this is a big secret to beating bad habits." shows that after 'to' there is a word 'beating' instead of 'beat'.
Could you guys explain to me about it.
Thanks in advance.
