To humble Earth

...is again the story of Jonathan Payne's encounters with the figure of Truth. Only this time the story is not confined to humble Earth.

in the sentence above I am not sure of the meaning of - to humble Earth. If somebody could help I would appreciate it very much. Thank you.

If you look at it as "not confined to Earth" you will see the meaning.
