Vocabulary

to have/share interests

Hello,
Would the second sentence make sense?
Joe: I don't know if she likes me. We are quite different.
Jenny: You don't need to have the same interests as her/You don't need to share the same interests.

What would sound most natural to you? That's not something I'd say in general.

Is it actually wrong to use "her", Jim? I think that's similar to "I am as tall as her/him".(Neither is grammatically correct, but people often use them. At least in my experience).

No. It's just that it sounds awkward (to me).
