Hi,

Does it sound weird to say

"I had two weeks of holiday"?

Yes. You can say: I had a two-week holiday. Some grammarians accept even: I had a two weeks' holiday.

  • You can say: I had a two-week holiday.
  • Some grammarians accept even: I had a two weeks' holiday.
  • That is fine with me, but some object to it because there is a genitive (weeks') between the article (a) and the noun it modifies ( holiday).
