To have one's back to sb.

Hi
Can somebody please explain the meaning of this idiom to me? Is it the static version of "turn the back on sb.?"
I'd like to know if this sentence is good to express the simple fact that you are showing your back to somebody you are speaking to, as a sign of protest. Can you give me a sentence as example?
