Hi friends
I'm reading a treatise of Seneca, but can't get this sentence:
Surely no one would choose to hit a foe so hard as to have his hand get stuck in the wound and be unable to withdraw from the blow.
what is the meaning of have his hand get stuck in the wound?
I understand this sentence in this way that when you hit someone first blow, you begin a quarrel that couldn't stop it whenever you want. But I'm not sure.
I think you understand it.
