To go ON a tour

Hello,

Could you please help me with these questions? Thank you.

1) Someone wrote: "I couldn´t go to the guided tours". I would correct her like this "I couldn´t go on the guided tours".

Are both ok? Would my correction be right? She had to do a Reading into Writing task and the article said: Go on a tour of the castle....

Another student wrote: I went in a tour. I assume this is incorrect. am I right? The same person continued writing: In the tour I visited.... Is here the preposition IN correct?

2) Another question:

We went ON the country walks IN the gardens and woods at the castle. I would correct her: I went TO the country walks in the gardens.... Do you agree? What about IN? Why does it sound strange IN in that sentence?

Thank you very much.

Are both ok? No. 'To' is not right. You go on a tour. Would my correction be right? She had to do a Reading into Writing task and the article said: Go on
