To gloss over something

Hello,
What would "gloss over" mean to you in these sentences:
- He could no longer gloss over his mistakes.
- She glossed over the company's declining profits.
- The documentary glossed over several important issues.
To me it means: to make something seem better than it actually is/ to give something false or deceptively good appearance.
