Vocabulary

to give/delegate work to someone

Hello,
Can we use "give" in: "A lot of the work will be given/delegated to freelancers"? The sentence makes sense to me. If it sounds fine, can we also say "A lot of the work will be given out to freelancers"?

According to Ngram "to give work" is not used often, whereas "to delegate work" appears to be quite common. I've heard native speakers say "to give work to someone", but 2-3 people don't make much difference.

Thank you.

No, don't say, "Given out."

"Give out" is usually used when something is given to a lot of different people, isn't it? Invitations, cards, etc can be given out. Does that mean that the other two verbs work fine?

Thank you for your help.
