To give visibility

Hi dear teachers,

today I was desperately trying to translate from italian to english : dare visibilitá: to give visibility (I am not sure that it can work since I translated directly from Italian and often it doesn´t work Emotion: crying )

The sentence is: "I think that the size of the logos was not too big, on the contrary, it gave even much more visibility to the stand"

I have also checked the dictionary and found "it makes the stand more visible"

Could I also say :"The logos contribuited to make the stand much more visible"??

I seriously doubt my sentence can work.... Emotion: crying

The same thing happens to me when I translate word for word from English into Italian. I know I'll be understood, but I also know it's not the way the Italians say it. Note: You have "I think" followed by a negative clause.

The same thing happens to me when I translate word for word from English into Italian. I know I'll be understood, but I also know it's not the way the Italians say it.

Italian has many similar words and often it is possible to translate word for word,however sometimes I do it and the result is embarassing
