To give space or to make space to

Hi,
my customer wants to add some cumbersome arm-chairs in the stand, so I´ve suggested to remove the counter to make space (or to give space) to these arm-chairs.

Is "to make space" or "to give space" correct?

Yes!

to suggest ---ing is another correct form, and very much used - even though it doesn't say who should perform the action. But sometimes you want to leave that out because it doesn't matter who does it.
