To ''get someone''?

Hi Everyone,

I know that we can use get to say understand, grasp; but could you tell me, please, if it can be used with a personal pronoun as well in the sense to understand what he says?

Is, for example, ''did you get him?'' in this sense a correct sentence?

Thanks.

'' in this sense a correct sentence? Yes. But recognize that it's very informal.

  • '' in this sense a correct sentence?
  • Yes.
  • But recognize that it's very informal.
  • You would not use this expression in any kind of scientific or academic writing.
  • The expression can even extend past what a person says to other aspects of people and things you don't understand: I don't get Schoenberg.
