to get over with sth.

Hi there,

I have heard the following expression: "Yeah there are a lot of things to get over with, I guess..."
No I wonder if I can use "get over with" differently.

For example: "I got over (with) it" (maybe a bad habit..)
Or: "We got over with it" (maybe an issue..)

Thanks!

Thank you!
However I still don't know if the "with" is optional?

Brilliant! Thank you very much! Can I say: "In the beginning there were a lot of problems to get it over with" ?

No. I'm afraid not. Problems are not unpleasant procedures that you might want to undergo soon just to be finished with the pain.

In the beginning there were a lot of problems to [overcome / surmount].

Thank you! However, I think I've had a conversation with an English person and he said: "I bet there are a lot of things to get over with". Or did I understand him wrong?

It could be that someone said that, but it sounds strange to me. I'm not sure what that person meant.
