to forget words
Hello,
Would it be okay to say:
- I haven't spoken French in ages and I've lost lots of words. - not what I usually hear. What do you think?
- I haven't spoken French in ages and I've forgotten lots of words. - I might use it.
- I haven't spoken French in ages and my vocabulary has shrunk. - I think it conveys the idea well, but I wouldn't use it.
Do they work for you? I am not the author and if I had to choose, I'd go with the second.

Gene93Do they work for you?Yes, they're all OK. If I had the idea, I would say, '...and I've forgotten a lot of it.'
