To fix up

Hello

I would like to know if the verb to fix up can be used not only for items which need to be repaired but also for people "I need to visit the doctor, I need to be fixed up"

Hello To fix something up means to repair for arrange something. But to fix some body up means to provide somebody with something or to find a partner for somebody. For example: He tries to fix me up with his best friend.
