To do somebody wrong/ My behaviour/ tricks does/ do somebody wrong

Hello there,

hope there's someone who can help me with this.. I do know the phrase (heard it a couple of times in different contexts, so I assume it does exist?) "To do somebody wrong".

But could I also say something like "Don't know how my BEHAVIOUR might have done you any wrong"? Meaning, can I just replace the "I" (in this case) with any other subject like "behaviour" or anything similar which still points to the fact that "I" did that to cause the other person harm but not putting it so directly?

I'm actually referring to a specific phrase I'd like to use - does it make sense to say: "Don't know how these tricks might have done you any wrong" ? (And if it is correct, is the word "tricks" a sensible choice in this case? I want to express that the first person acted in a kind of deceitful way to manipulate the other person.)

Many thanks in advance.

Anonymous "To do somebody wrong". It means to do something that is not nice to someone else. In the 70s there was a popular song in the States ("Somebody done somebody wrong song") - I believe it was about one person in a relationship breaking it up, hurting the other person.
