Vocabulary

To date/to this day

Hello,
Can we use both of them in: "The model was invented in Germany in 1971 and is manufactured to date/to this day"?
Can we also say: "The model has been manufactured in Germany to date/to this day"? I have a preference for "to date".

Thank you.
