Vocabulary

to crush/break up a chicken stock cube

Hello,
Would "Crush the chicken/beef stock cube on the cutting board" sound odd to you? I personally see nothing wrong with the sentence.
I've also heard people use "break up" instead, but I don't think I would use it. It makes me think of breaking it into smaller pieces, rather than crushing it into powder which is what most people want to do.
