to cross the street with heavy traffic before the light turns green

Dear native English speakers,

Would both of the sentences be used? Would you please correct them if needed?

(a) It would be so dangerous to cross the street with heavy traffic
before the light turns green.

(b) It is really dangerous to walk across the street with heavy traffic
before the green light is on.

Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the help, Alphecca Stars.

And one more question.

Would using "cross the street" sound strange in (a) and (b)? Would only "cross a street" be correct?

"the" (= this street here) is not incorrect, but "a" (= any) is more natural.
