To come at peace

Hey Guys, We can say to be at peace with something or with oneself, but what's the verb for describing someone kind of "returning" to peace. can u say he/she came to peace with him/herself?

For example after a loss. Let's say someone lost someone close, but few years later he is at peace. Can we say "he finally came to peace"?
