to clear one's schedule (in context)

Ben and Steve were quarrelling. Ben says such things as: “I won’t smoke marijuana again; you don’t have to come back; take it seriously; you’re exacerbating my problem ”. I think Steve thinks this conversation was a waste of time and Ben is crazy. At the end he (Steve) says: “”I'll try to clear my schedule for the next time the clarity wears off”. What does he mean? I’ll prepare my schedule and I will have other things to do when such a situation happens again”?
