a) "I have to check this suitcase, since it is too heavy for me to carry it inside the airplane."

b) "I have to have this suitcase checked, since it is too heavy for me to carry it inside the airplane."

They are both OK, but remove 'it' as shown above.

too ___ (for ___) to ____ does not take an object if it is mentioned earlier in the sentence.

The suitcase is too heavy to carry.

(Not to carry it, because that means

The suitcase is too heavy to carry the suitcase.)

Adding 'for me' or something like that doesn't change the rule.

Here's a case where the object is not mentioned in the same sentence, so it's OK:

This suitcase is really heavy. I am too tired to carry it upstairs.

(it refers to the suitcase, of course.)
