Some people believe that teaching children at home is best for a child’s development while others think that it is important for children to go to school.
Discuss the advantages of both methods and give your own opinion.
Some argue that homeschooling is better for children’s development, while others disagree and opine that children should go to school. In my opinion, both ways have their own merits. However, I am in favor of sending children to school because it’s more beneficial for their overall development.
On one hand, homeschooling give parents and their children flexibility to set up their timetable and determine the curriculum. Their subjects and areas are not only at one place like home; instead, it can be a zoo or museum at any time of the day. Hence, they can choose to attend any constructive activities which fit in once in a lifetime learning opportunities, such as an exciting exhibition or a family trip while public school is till in session. Another advantage for home schooled children is that they will have an ability to spend more time focusing their studies on areas of interest. For example, if they love act or science, parents can develop a customized study plan to excel their kids’ strengths. While in school, students rarely have chances to choose which subjects they want to learn and very often they have to study too much amount of information.
On the other hand, a primary advantage of schooling is that teachers are adequate and certified to impart in-depth knowledge about various subjects. Teaching methodologies in school are also well designed to aid in a child’s overall development. Another benefit is that students in school have more to learn valuable coping skills which will prepare them for their future. It’s because these students get to interact with a lot of strangers and also encounter many challenges like how to cooperate with other peers for team assignment or not to disheartened by failure.
In a conclusion, even though these methods have its own benefits, I strongly feel that it is very vital for children to attend school.
