TO CATCH A PASS

Hello

I found some comic (http://www.uclick.com/client/wpc/tm/ ) in which a guy says :

'A guy catches a pass and does a whole dance routine in the end zone to celebrate what he's done alone...'

What does 'to catch a pass' stand for ?? Does it mean to score a point in a game ??

Hi, In games like basketball and American football, when one player throws the ball to another player on the same team, we say he 'passed' the ball. So, his team-mate has to catch the pass. It may or may not lead to scoring a point.

It's called a touchdown and many players will do a celebratory dance routine which puts all spot lights on himself and totally
