Vocabulary

to bring someone over

Hello,
Here's some context.:
Jack: My sister and her new boyfriend are coming round on Friday.
John: Is he the one you don't like?
Jack: Yeah.
John: Can you ask her not to bring him over/round?

I am not sure the very last sentence sounds okay. Does "...not to bring him round/over" sound unnatural?

Thank you

This might be a silly question, but how does "over/round" make it sound unnatural? They just indicate that his sister and her new boyfriend are going to his place. I hope that my question will not be misunderstood.

Those words add a note of pleasant familiarity to the phrase, but the speaker does not wish to see the person.
