To bring

"He's enjoying a great season, as is Christian Eriksen, and it only took one quick move between the two Spurs midfielders to bring what had been a fairly evenly matched game to life there." (BBC Sport website.)

Is "to bring" in catenative relation to "took" or is it expressing a purpose, i.e., "in order to bring" in the above?
