Hello, Would it be correct to say: When dad slammed the brakes, we were bounced out of our seats/we bounced out of our seats? I think I might use "jolt" instead, but bounce might work as well.
I hope it doesn't sound too bad. Thank you .

'Bounce' is just too pleasant a word. Use 'jolt' if you wish, but I would use 'throw'.

What I would find natural is that "whenever Dad slammed on the brakes, my seat belt barely stopped me from being thrown against the dashboard/front seat." Of course, that's because in Canada we must wear seat belts.
