Vocabulary

to become worse in quality

Hello,
I am asking out of curiosity. I can't see any difference between these verbs "decline/worsen/deteriorate" in the following sentence: "The quality of their goods has declined/worsened/deteriorated." Can you?
Would you use "degenerate" in this sentence?

Thank you

There's little difference between the words in your triad. "Degenerate" is often used in situations of mental, physiological, or moral decline, so I wouldn't use it here.

Yes, that's the reason I didn't use it in the sentence. I think I wouldn't give much thought to worsen for it's meaning is clear. Decline suggests to me that the quality of the goods is not as good as it once was. What do you think?
