To Become vs To Becoming

Which form is correct?

I am committed to become the best X I can possibly be

I am committed to becoming the best X I can possibly be

I actually used a proofreading service and they change it "to becoming". Is this correct too? Just sounds wrong to me.

Thanks for the reply.

Does that mean that "to become" is incorrect?
