I have been thinking to teach English in South Korea for some time. The thing is they tend to ask for a native English speaker. Now, I want to know what they will consider a native speaker because they also ask that the person has to be a citizen from a country where English is the native language. In addition, you would have studied in that country since year 7 and have graduated too in an English speaking country.
My first language is Portuguese but I moved to England when I was 11 years old. I am hoping to graduate next year and also going to start applying for a British citizenship. Do you think the fact English is not my first language will be a problem or not?
Top answer
It will probably not be a problem once you have British citizenship.
