1:There were three other fosters in that home. If Fiona started the fire,
she didn't just save herself. She saved all of their lives.
I don't get it. Wouldn't she save just herself if she had started it?

And if she didn't...
2: You keep sayin' 'if'.
1: Do the math. One kid was younger, two kids were older.
2: Old enough to be tried as adults? Fiona to accept them as parents?

I don't get it. Wouldn't she save just herself if she had started it? Sounds like she changed her mind. Perhaps her conscience would not let her kill these people.

It seems there was a fire in a foster home. They are discussing whether one of the kids, Fiona, started the fire or not.

One is saying that even if she had set the fire, she made sure everyone was safe.

The other point is that two of the kids are old enough to be tried as adults - put on trial for arson in an adult court.

Quite what they mean by that is unclear - that Fiona set the fire thinking the older ones would get the blame? That the older ones wouldn't have risked setting the fire because they would get in too much trouble? That the older two might have done it but should have known better?
